Mahaweli Reach Hotel

Our story begins in the early 1970s, a tale full of determination and daring, not to mention a sense of adventure! It was during this time that the late Mr. Atul Panabokke, a tea planter by profession, had the singular vision of offering travellers a true home away from home in the hill country. From humble beginnings as a four-roomed guesthouse, overseen by Mr. Panabokke and his wife and sons, the property has been transformed into the five star luxury hotel in Kandy it is today. Throughout the passing of time, Mahaweli Reach Hotel has stayed true to its founder’s original vision, creating a modern establishment rooted in rich traditions. The genuine essence of heartfelt Sri Lankan hospitality and personalized service, treating each guest as part of our extended family, is very much a part of our ethos. This indigenous identity is something that is important to us as we combine the proud heritage of our past with a sense of contemporary sophistication, providing guests with a holiday of a lifetime. The renowned Universal Group of Maldives is also now a major stakeholder of Mahaweli Reach and this strategic alliance has started a new chapter in our story.

Mahaweli reach is one of the best hotel. Staff service and hospitality are good. Foods are tasty and attractive buffet. Environment is very quite, beautiful and greenery. But crows were going through the reception hall when we were having our bf. Im not satisfied with that. But as overall,Mahaweli reach is best place for relaxation.

Had a good time at this place as rooms seems to be newly built & felt as luxurious. Friendly Staff always wanted to provide their best to us. Unfortunately Buffet wasn't available as not many guests were there due to the bad situation occurred on last 21st nevertheless food at Ala-carte menu was served tasted fresh. 1750/= per head for a boat ride sounded little bit too much is the only concern that you should pay attention as there wasn't much to look around. Recommend the place for a lovely stay.
